After an earlier career in media and politics in Brisbane and Melbourne, Christine joined the tourism and hospitality industry on the Gold Coast during a time of significant tourism infrastructure development and the OZ invasion of international hotel brands; resulting in invaluable skillsets and experience gained in pre and early post openings in management roles with some major resorts and theme parks. A detour into tertiary education with another pre and post opening role at Bond Uni, before returning to the industry; this time introducing nationally recognised industry qualifications as outcomes for industry practitioners at enterprise based hospitality ‘colleges’.
Christine’s industry expertise expanded resulting in key senior executive roles including General Manager of major international resort and spa hotels with significant conference, dining, golf and leisure facilities; some of which were the venues for nationally and internationally televised events.
Christine has represented her properties, the region and the industry on tertiary education and industry boards and committees as well as national and international trade fairs and roadshows. Her work and her properties have been recognised in State, national and international tourism and hospitality awards.
Since returning to Queensland from Melbourne 3 years ago, Christine has been providing marketing, hr and strategic consultancy services to the industry.
